Keeping Sphaerichthys acrostoma
Sphaerichthys acrostoma is only found sporadically in the aquarium. This makes it difficult to say exactly how this species should be kept. It is wisest to imitate the natural biotope and its water values in a well-planted aquarium. The pH should be between 3.5 and 6.5, the dH between 0 and 3 and the temperature 21° to 25°C. They can reach a total length of about 10 centimeters.
Breeding Sphaerichthys acrostoma
In this species it is the males that broods the eggs in his mouth. Nothing more is known about reproduction.
